Q: When and where does AITC 2027 take place?
A: AITC 2027 takes place in Nuremberg, Germany. The exact dates and the venue are to be announced. Once confirmed, we will publish them on this website and in our newsletter.
Q: Who can attend AITC 2027?
A: The conference is open to everyone with an interest in AI transparency, interpretability, and safety — researchers, students, practitioners, policymakers, and members of the public. You do not need to present a paper to attend.
Q: What is the conference language?
A: The conference language is English. All talks, poster sessions, and published materials are in English.
Q: What is the format of the conference?
A: AITC is an in-person conference with keynotes, paper talks, and poster sessions. The detailed program for 2027 will be published once the dates and speakers are confirmed. The previous edition, AITC 2026, took place on June 5–6, 2026 in Nuremberg and featured three keynotes, ten paper talks, and two poster sessions.
Registration & Tickets
Q: How do I register?
A: Registration is handled through our ticket shop. Please visit the Registration page for the current status and, once registration opens, the link to the ticket shop.
Q: How much does admission cost?
A: Admission and pricing for AITC 2027 are to be announced. AITC 2026 offered free admission; whether fees will apply in 2027 has not yet been decided. Any pricing will be published on the Registration page.
Q: Will I receive a ticket and an invoice?
A: Yes. The ticket shop issues tickets and invoices automatically when you complete your order. Your ticket is a PDF with a QR code, which is scanned at the entrance. If you need a correction to your invoice, please contact us at aitc@coairesearch.org.
Q: Can I manage my registration later?
A: Yes. Every order confirmation email contains a personal link to your order, where you can download your ticket and invoice or update your details. You can also create a free account in the ticket shop to see and manage all your orders in one place.
Submissions & Publication
Q: Is the call for submissions open?
A: Not yet. The call for submissions for AITC 2027 will be announced on the Call for Papers page. Submissions will run via OpenReview; the venue link will be published there once it is available.
Q: Where are accepted papers published?
A: Accepted papers are published in the AI Transparency Journal (AITJ). See the Author Guidelines for details on formatting and the publication process.
Visa
Q: Do I need a visa to attend AITC 2027 in Nuremberg, Germany?
A: This depends on your nationality. Citizens of the EU/EEA and several other countries do not require a visa for short stays in Germany. Please check with the German Embassy or Consulate in your country to confirm whether you need a Schengen visa.
Q: Can the organizing committee provide an invitation letter for my visa application?
A: Yes. Once the conference dates are confirmed, we are happy to issue an official invitation letter to support your visa application. Please send us the required details, and we will prepare the letter for you.
Q: What information do I need to provide for the invitation letter?
A: Please send us the following:
- Full name (as stated in your passport)
- Passport number
- Passport expiry date
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Tentative travel dates
- Organization and job title
- Current address
Q: Should I contact the German Embassy before requesting the invitation letter?
A: Yes, we strongly recommend it. Visa requirements can vary by country, and some embassies may require additional details in the invitation letter. Contacting them first ensures we can include everything they need in a single letter and avoid delays.
Q: When should I start the visa application process?
A: We recommend starting as early as possible once the conference dates are announced. Schengen visa processing can take several weeks, and appointment availability at embassies varies. Once you have your hotel booking confirmation and invitation letter, you can proceed with your application.
Q: Does the invitation letter guarantee that my visa will be approved?
A: No. The invitation letter supports your application, but the final decision rests with the German Embassy or Consulate. We recommend preparing all required documents carefully, including proof of accommodation, travel insurance, and financial means.
Accommodation
Q: Will the organizing committee arrange accommodation for attendees?
A: No. Accommodation is not included and must be arranged and paid for by each attendee individually. We plan to share information about hotels in the Nuremberg area with registered participants closer to the conference.
Q: Is accommodation sponsored or subsidized by the organizing committee?
A: No. AITC 2027 is organized by a non-profit organization and we do not have the funding to sponsor or subsidize accommodation. All accommodation costs are the responsibility of the attendee.
